Part 1 of these ducks swimming in the sink a few days earlier, went viral and helped this YouTube channel reach 30 million views. The baby ducks grew up and I released them into the pond with a group of Muscovy ducks. Ducks are safer in numbers obviously as each has a better chance of survival and can be more distracting to predators. If you are thinking of getting pet ducks or ducklings read how to care for them in part 1, "Baby Ducks Diving In The Sink LMAO! p1" http://youtu.be/HUZFj90KT7c and Subscribe to this channel for more great videos. https://www.youtube.com/user/crockjock
These baby ducks, ducklings, are having a blast swimming and diving underwater in the sink. Pekin Ducks swim at just days old, but their feathers are not fully developed enough to keep them warm and dry. Baby ducks are not producing the oils needed as a water barrier. Their mothers, in nature, keep a careful watch on her ducklings and don't allow them to swim in the water for too long periods of time. If a human is raising baby ducks as pets, they must not allow the ducklings to swim unattended and for long periods as they could drown. The pet baby ducks will get fatigued quickly without guidance and before you know it, something tragic happens to them. So be very carful when introducing your pet ducks to the water for the first time. They know how to swim, but their body is not conditioned for long periods in water. It's best to start the ducklings in a shallow enough pool or in this case, a sink where they can touch the bottom. I started with the baby ducks in a shallower pool, but when they started diving, I gave them some more room to dive under the water since they were handling it well. After they burned off the bulk of their energy, I took them out so they could dry off under the heat lamp. You will notice them shivering if it's too cold so have a warm towel ready for them to stand on when they get out of the pool. They will shake that water off and start drying, but you don't want them to get a chill, so get them back under that heat lamp as soon as you can.
Baby ducks or pet ducks are a serious responsibility, so if you are looking to buy a duck so you can have baby ducks for your sink, ha ha, just look online for a duck breeder near you. Make sure you know how to properly care for them because they are fragile when young. There are ducks for sale in more places then you would image. Pekin ducks are nice, but Muscovy ducks make great pets too.
