Which Hamsters Can Live Together?

The word 'Hamster' does not refer to a particular species of animal it refers to a subfamily of animals called Cricetinae - aka hamsters. Cricetinae has several different species that are listed within this subfamily. Although we may refer to them collectively as hamsters they are all still in fact different species only 5 of which are domesticated. To give an easier example of what this means take a look at birds. We collectively call all feathered, winged animals birds but if you compare a duck to a budgie it is obvious that they are not the same animals and are in fact two different species classified under the term 'Birds'. Similarly this is how hamsters must be compared, though they are collectively called 'Hamsters' there are still individual species.
