Fancy rat bruxing

New description in response to the many and varied comments (thank you for the kind and intelligent ones):
For what it's worth, I took the video, I was managing the animal care at this facility, and I have worked with animals my whole life. Facts: This rat was not overbred or abused, she was properly cared for according to state and usda inspection as well as with love and kindness. She was indeed boggling as well as bruxing, while contentedly nursing her second litter of babies. She was named Bitchmom by someone who tried to touch her babies without reading her body language, and her defensiveness was viewed affectionately by all who knew her. She passed on years ago, of natural causes. She was a dumbo rat, which is a type of fancy rat, and does refer to the placement of the ears on the head. Mass breeding is bad, rats are better off as friends than food, pet stores generally have no idea how to take care of animals, particularly the large chains. I developed my love for rats through owning snakes, when I decided they were better pets than the reptiles, but I respect the fact that snakes need to eat and nature designed rodents as their appropriate diet. I believe that animals should be treated kindly and gently, but cats and dogs are not our slaves and we would not be doing them any favors by releasing them all into the wild to run free. Nature is cruel. Humans have choices. And some of us will never agree with each other. Namaste.
